VIDA WELCOMES NEW BOARD MEMBERS HAFIZAH GETER AND KRISTA MANRIQUE!
October 14, 2015 —VIDA: Women in Literary Arts is thrilled to welcome two new board members: Hafizah Geter and Krista Manrique!
Hafizah Geter will serve on our Board of Directors as Count Coordinator. Hafizah Geter is a Cave Canem Fellow and was a semi-finalist for the 2010 “Discovery” / Boston Review Contest. A recipient of a 2012 Amy Award from Poets & Writers, a 2013 Blacksmith House Emerging Writer and a finalist in the Fifth Annual Narrative Magazine Poetry Prize, she was also a 2014 Ruth Lilly Poetry Fellowship Finalist. Her poems have appeared or are forthcoming in RHINO, Columbia: A Journal of Literature and Art, Linebreak, Narrative Magazine, Gulf Coast, Boston Review, and Los Angeles Review of Books, among others. She is a poetry editor at Phantom Books. Hafizah is a South Carolina native currently living in Brooklyn, New York.
Krista Manrique will serve as Treasurer on the Executive Board. Krista Manrique is a development professional and nonprofit administrator. She began her career at the national poetry library and literary center, Poets House, where she spent a decade getting poetry to the greater public. She currently works in development for an educational nonprofit with a social justice bent. Krista was born and raised in Miami, Florida and currently lives in Queens, New York.
