VIDA Reads with Writers – Bhanu Kapil!

What are you reading on the subway or in the waiting room today?

I just finished the fourth book in Elena Ferrante’s Naples series: The Story of the Lost Child.  I found it very moving.

The Story of the Lost Child

What book popped for you in 2015?

Melissa Buzzeo’s The Devastation.  The shock of the red page.

Whose words do you return to regularly?

Mei-Mei Berssenbrugge.  Fairies!!!!!

Is there an author you can’t wait to read next?

Dolores Dorantes.  Always.

What are you working on now? What can VIDA fans look forward to from you next?

I feel a strange blankness from which, I know, great works will come — but right now I am reading self-help manuals and eating lentils for supper with panache, by which I mean — I added some olives.
