Sami Schalk

Sami Schalk is an Assistant Professor of English at University at Albany, SUNY with a PhD in Gender Studies from Indiana University. Her research focuses on representations of race, disability and gender in contemporary American literature, especially African American literature and speculative fiction. Sami’s academic work has appeared in Disability Studies Quarterly, Journal of Modern Literature and Journal of Literary and Cultural Disability Studies. In addition, Sami is a Cave Canem poet with an MFA from University of Notre Dame.
